Meet the musicians...

Evan Harlan
(accordion, arrangements) has recorded and performed internationally with many jazz and "world music" ensembles including the Klezmer Conservatory Band, Orange Then Blue, Brasileirinho, and the Claudio Ragazzi Quintet. In addition to having composed numerous scores for film, dance and theater, he has played on several soundtracks including Sidney Lumet's A Stranger Among Us and John Sayles' Lone Star. Also a pianist, Mr. Harlan is a busy freelancer, with countless hours in the "pit" (Chicago, The Most Happy Fella, Schlemiel the First) and the recording booth to his (dis?)credit.

Mimi Rabson
(electric violin) is a founding and current member of the Klezmer Conservatory Band, which tours internationally and has many recording and film credits. Recently released is a collaboration between Itzhak Perlman and the KCB. Ms. Rabson's ensemble the Really Eclectic String Quartet (RESQ) released its first recording in 1992, and recently she served as music director for Joel Grey's Borscht Capades. Her individual recording and performing credits include A Stranger Among Us, New Kids on the Block, Robert Plant & Jimmy Page, and Jonatha Brooke.

Claudio Ragazzi
(electric guitar) composes for and leads the Claudio Ragazzi Quintet, which has performed at jazz festivals and clubs in Indonesia, New York and Boston. He also has performed with Yo-Yo Ma, Pablo Ziegler (pianist with the late Astor Piazzolla), and Danilo Perez. Mr. Ragazzi has also composed extensively for TV, film, and dance, including Next Stop Wonderland, themes for La Plaza (WGBH-TV), Sesame Street, and All Bird TV for the Discovery Channel.

Grant Smith
(drums) is a member of the Klezmer Conservatory Band, and has toured with several alternative rock bands including the Violent Femmes and the Hypnotic Clambake. He is also a veteran of the theater "pit," most recently playing in nationwide productions of I. B. Singer's Schlemiel the First, Joel Grey's Borscht Capades, and the American Repertory Theater's King Stag.
